💡 Teaching Tips for Spanish-Speaking Adult Learners:

🇪🇸 Compare with Spanish
Always contrast with Spanish: "In Spanish, B and V sound the same (/b/). In English, V is /v/ with teeth on lip."
🦷 TH Sound Practice
For TH, have students put tongue between teeth and blow gently. Practice "this/that" vs "sis/sat" contrasts.
👅 R Sound Training
English R is made at back of mouth (not rolled like Spanish RR). Practice saying "ruh" with tongue back.
🗣️ Minimal Pairs Focus
Use minimal pairs: ship/sheep, bit/beat, bet/bat. Spanish speakers struggle with these vowel differences.
🎭 Mouth Position Mirror
Have students watch themselves in a mirror. For W, show how lips round more than Spanish "u".
🔄 Transfer to Words
Connect sounds to words immediately: "THis" → "this", "THat" → "that". Build confidence with familiar words.
